Mistaya - Chopin Waltz in F Minor 70/2: Message Board

Mistaya's Comments

looking forward to listening to everyone's submissions tomorrow - it's been a wonderful week listening to bits of the competition - but poor strategy to try to record after hearing the pros :)

Elene 2010-10-22 11:46:49 It's good to hear this waltz; I don't think it's played nearly often enough. I used to play it a lot myself but haven't looked at it in a couple of years. I think I'll try it today!
Andy Platt 2010-10-20 21:49:24 That was very delicately and beautifully played ... thank you!
timmyab 2010-10-20 10:42:59 Good clean take of this superb little waltz.I know what you mean about playing after the pros in Warsaw.I'm listening to Wander playing the 1st concerto at the moment and it's kind of humiliating.
heidiv 2010-10-20 07:17:33 I enjoyed listening to your interpretation. You effectively use rubato at the cadences while keeping the forward motion of the music within the phrases. Congrats!
ab-ster 2010-10-19 21:08:42 Very nice job on this Waltz, Mistaya. Thank you for playing this, I can hear thick Chopin essense in your playing. I really enjoy your performance.
Inlanding 2010-10-18 14:35:27 I very much enjoy the story you tell with this piece. Your pace and sense of touch is exquisite. Thank you!
CMohr 2010-10-18 13:20:37 This is just lovely! An extremely enjoyable listen, well played!
gerg 2010-10-18 12:04:35 Mistaya, this is one of my favorite waltzes. Chopin dedicated this sweet little piece to his sister Louise.

I've heard varying interpretations of the ornaments in the major theme. You have have fun with these. Rubinstein (Artur), for example, plays them as slow triplets.

Your playing - very clean and from the heart. Excellent work, as always!
Strings&Wood 2010-10-18 09:45:01 Delightfully played with a beautiful touch. Very nice, Mistaya!
LisztAddict 2010-10-18 08:39:04 Excellent performance. Your execution of the ornaments and trills is so clean and perfect!!!
Mistaya 2010-10-18 00:16:17 It's op. posth. 70 no. 2 - I messed up the entry and didn't know how to fix it ...
AnotherSchmoe 2010-10-17 13:53:41 Very lovely performance! I feel like I've heard this piece before but can't quite place the number or title. Thanks so much for sharing, you have a very nice touch!
