timmyab - Beethoven Sonata No. 31 in A flat Major, 3rd mov. 110: Message Board

timmyab's Comments

Well this came out better than I'd hoped in the end even though there's a lot that can be improved of course. There's only one major clanger I think.I had a bit of a problem with the rests in the second Arioso because the pedal on my piano is just an on off switch.I got bored with even trying half way through and played it legato.
The four parts of this movement were recorded separately and spliced together.
Any constructive criticism will be gratefully recieved.

Andy Platt 2010-12-17 10:59:49 I realized partway through I was listening to something from this recital. I had totally forgotten and was just immersed in the music. Fabulous.
Piano*Dad 2010-12-17 09:35:50 What a fabulous performance. I'm working backward from this movement to the first, and it's an unfamiliar sonata to me (I'm ashamed to admit). You have remarkable tone control, and your phrasing made the architecture of the piece very clear to me.
