Nikolas 2011-09-27 03:37:44 Well Jeffrey,

This is a real treat! And to think that I don't really fancy R. Strauss's music all that much, but this is certainly an exception!
Carey 2011-08-30 16:09:48 Beautiful (and mature) playing Jeffrey !!! You really understand Strauss !!! Bravo !!
wr 2011-08-28 02:50:30 Excellent and enjoyable! I thought I recognized the title and, sure enough, when I heard it, I remembered that one of them was in a collection I had as a kid. You played it much better than I ever did!
David 2011-08-24 18:47:42 Hi Jeffrey,

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to all of these pieces which you played so well. And there is so much contrast among them. I believe that you have served the composer exceptionally well. Thanks for sharing this music with us!

Inlanding 2011-08-22 11:45:17 An absolute treat. Beautiful melodies so beautifully played. Bravo!
Cinnamonbear 2011-08-21 10:51:56 Jeffrey, these are gorgeous! You have such an excellent feel for them! I find myself transported by your playing... I am having the same kind of "Oh my gosh!" moment that I did as when I heard the Liszt Ballade No. 2 that you posted earlier this year. Beautiful music! Wonderful performance!
Jeffrey Jones 2011-08-21 09:49:23 Julian, that doesn't surprise me, the name of the cycle was translated as "Moods and Fancies." :D
Julian (SlatterFan) 2011-08-21 08:43:42 Thanks -- lovely pieces and playing. I'll definitely learn these in the future.

It seems that a few of the piece titles were slightly mistranslated by the publisher. I would translate them as:

1. Auf stillem Waldespfad = On a quiet forest path
2. An einsamer Quelle = By a solitary spring
5. Haidebild (Heidebild in modern spelling) = Moorland scene, or possibly pagan scene (to me the music evokes the latter)
Greg 2011-08-20 13:38:30 I just listened to the whole 15 minutes. You did a wonderful job! This is every bit the feast that your submission last year was.
Greg 2011-08-20 13:21:02 What a lovely suite! Almost Schumannesque, stories in pictures - and indeed that's what this is!

Delightful, Jeffrey, absolutely delightful! :-)
