jeffreyjones - Liszt Transcendental Etude No. 11: Harmonies du Soir: Message Board

jeffreyjones's Comments

My rather shaky attempt at this great impassioned Etude. It turned out a lot better than I expected, but it falls apart when it is at its hardest.

emanuel ravelli 2011-10-25 21:55:38 Nice work, Jeffrey. The sedate pace and general quietude of this piece mask its technical difficulties, which are formidable in places. No need to apologize for this performance -- you've done a fine job of bringing out the music in these notes. Here and there in the louder parts, your sound got a bit harsh. Could be the piano or the mike placement, but it might also be too much muscle and not enough arm weight. Happy experimenting.
