dannylux - Felix Blumenfeld Prelude in D flat 17/15: Message Board

dannylux's Comments

Felix Blumenfeld (1863-1931) was the teacher of Horowitz, Neuhaus, Barere, Maria Yudina and Maria Grinberg. His "24 Preludes In All The Keys" Op.17 are wonderful pieces, some approaching and even equaling Chopin's best. Here is the No.15 in D flat.

Rachfan 2010-08-24 22:47:54 Hi Mel,

I really enjoyed hearing this prelude. Like Liszt, Blumenfeld's oeuvre is a bit uneven in quality, but he also has produced some real gems like this prelude. His music should be heard more often. Your artistic playing of this late romantic work was excellent.
