Yamaha G3 & P-80 - Astor Piazzolla Invierno Porteno: Message Board

Yamaha G3 & P-80's Comments

I submitted this piece in one of the Adult Beginner Recitals and nearly 800 people have downloaded it so far. Of those, only one person chose to leave a comment. I wonder why? Is it because it's marked Lento y dramatico and I play it rather fast?

heidiv 2010-08-22 12:27:14 Tempo seems fine to me, and you certainly play it dramatico! You give the piece great flair. Nice work!
inlanding 2010-08-21 22:38:15 A very interesting piece of music. I like how you bring it to life with so much energy.
gerg 2010-08-21 20:52:58 You played it with a great deal of passion and confidence, Mike.

I know Fauré's tempos are not always to be taken literally, and perhaps Piazzolla is the same way.

Bring your own interpretation. This sounds like it is influenced by a jazz idiom. Delightful and well-played, my friend. Great work!
Elene 2010-08-21 03:28:40 The tempo doesn't seem unusual for Piazzolla, nor wrong for the piece. It sounds similar to what I usually hear in recordings of this composer's work.

In order to decide on the tempo for dance music, try dancing to it and see what feels right.
Carey 2010-08-20 23:04:01 Nice job with this !! The tempo seems fine.
Sorcerer88 2010-08-20 20:30:00 the tempo seems to suit the piece, i can't imagine it much slower by only listening to your recording ^^ great execution and feel, kudos for giving the piece your own style! chopin might be offended, but i'm sure piazolla's fine with that ;)
