Manuel Maria Ponce (1882-1948) combined French Impressionism and the Romantic exuberance of Liszt and with Mexican folk melodies.Bersagliera has a decidedly Baroque feel to it. It's translated as "an energetic and decisive woman". Not quite sure what that means.

| Carey | 2010-08-20 23:17:55 | I've known several "energetic and decisive women." I don't detect much in the way of a Baroque or Impressionistic style here - but the piece definitely is Romantic and exuberant !! Seems to also give the performer a good workout !! |
