Jeffrey Jones - Rosenberg Sonata No. 3: Message Board
Jeffrey Jones's Comments
The first two movements of Hilding Rosenberg's Third Sonata, which I consider the most accessible, charming and playable of the three. He lived an extraordinarily long life, from 1892-1985, and used many different styles of composition. As a contemporary of Hindemith, they tracked along similar paths, yet Rosenberg is much less known today despite his obvious lyrical gift and the refinement that went into all his music.Post your comments on Jeffrey Jones's performance!

Not your playing, mind you... I mean, what the composer wrote and meant. I'm still trying to make it out. Thanks for putting this on the table! Jeffrey, what do YOU make of this piece? Is there something you can put into words about what it's trying to say? Or is it raw mood and emotion that you can only say through the playing of it? Thanks! |

gerg | 2010-08-21 00:35:02 | It is beautiful playing and does not seem an easy task to extract all of that lyricism. (again, sorry about the limitation of the player not playing WMA!) |
Carey | 2010-08-21 00:14:22 | Beautiful playing Jeffrey. So glad you were able to submit this by the deadline !! |
